About Dr. Whatley

Dr. John Marshall Whatley is a board-certified Hip, Knee, and Trauma Specialist serving patients at BROC’s Bluebonnet and Walker Campuses.

Dr. John Marshall Whatley earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University and his Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the same institution and pursued a fellowship in Trauma and Joint Replacement at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dr. Whatley’s specific clinical interests include pelvis and acetabular fractures, open fractures, complex peri-articular fractures, fracture nonunions, treatment of polytrauma patients, post-traumatic joint reconstruction, and treatment of hip and knee arthritis.

With a focus on minimally invasive techniques whenever possible, Dr. Whatley strives to optimize recovery and minimize downtime for his patients.
