MyChart offers patients personalized and secure on-line access to portions of their medical records. It enables you to securely use the Internet to help manage and receive information about your health. With MyChart, you can use the Internet to:

• Request medical appointments.
• View your health summary from the MyChart electronic medical record.
• View lab results.
• Request prescription renewals.
• Pay your bill
• Access trusted health information resources.
• Communicate electronically and securely with your medical care team.

Parents/Guardians of patients 15 and under can also set up a MyChart account to access their child’s information. To establish this access, parents must complete and submit a Proxy Consent Form. Proxy Consent Forms can be obtained from any of our pediatric offices.

MyChart is a free service offered to our patients.

We take great care to ensure your health information is kept private and secure. Access to information is controlled through secure activation codes, personal usernames, and passwords. Each person controls their password, and the account must be accessed using that password. On mobile, the account may also be accessed using a face ID or fingerprint login. Unlike conventional email, all MyChart messaging is done while you are securely logged in to our website or mobile app.

You can ensure that your account stays secure even if someone else has your username or password by turning on two-step verification. When this feature is turned on, you must enter a code that is sent to you by email or text message to log in to MyChart, in addition to using your username and password. You might receive email or text notifications that contain links to MyChart. These notifications allow you to log in to MyChart securely using a link that expires after a short time. Keeping your MyChart account secure means keeping your phone number and email account secure. If you think that your phone number or email account may be compromised, you can change the phone number or email account on file on the "Personal Information" page in MyChart.

No, your activation code is not your MyChart ID or password. You will use this code only once to log into MyChart for the first time. (The code will expire after you have used it or after 30 days). When you log into MyChart the first time, you will then be asked to create your own unique MyChart ID and password.

For your security, your activation code expires after 60 days and is no longer valid after the first time you use it. If you still have problems, contact us or call the MyChart Patient Support line at (225) 468-6800.

You need access to a computer connected to the Internet and an up-to-date browser (such as Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, etc.), or an Apple or Android mobile device to download the MyChart app.

Unless you have proxy access activated for your family member’s account, you will only be able to access your MyChart account. Since MyChart offers direct access to your personal health record, sending a question about a family member would result in the question about their health to appear in your chart.

Yes, this is called proxy access, which allows a designated person, or “proxy”, access to MyChart information regarding their family member.

Proxy access can be established by family members for patients of all ages. Patients over the age of 15 are required to give consent to their family members before proxy access to their account will be granted. Parents or guardians of patients 15 and under can simply request a MyChart account for their child to access their information.

No, due to the sensitive nature of medical information and because each MyChart account is directly linked to your health record, each adult must establish their own MyChart account.

You may contact our MyChart Help Desk by e-mail at mychartsupport@brortho.com or by phone at (225) 468-6800 to request a new, secure password. You may also click the “Forgot Password” link on the sign-in page to reset your password online.

We aim to protect your privacy and information. If you remain idle for 10 minutes or more after you log in to MyChart, you will be automatically logged out. We recommend that you log out of MyChart if you need to leave your computer for even a short period of time.

Your message will be reviewed during regular office hours and you should expect a response from the clinic within 1-2 business days. Please note that MyChart should not be used for urgent situations. Please contact your provider’s office directly if the situation requires immediate attention or dial 911 if it is an emergency.

Your MyChart information comes directly from your electronic medical record at your doctor’s office. You can message the clinic with the correction or ask your doctor to correct any inaccurate information at your next clinic visit. Your health information is reviewed and updated in your electronic medical record each visit.

MyChart is fully compliant with federal and state laws pertaining to your privacy. Your name and e-mail address will be treated with the same care and privacy given your health records and will never be sold or leased by MyChart.

With MyChart, you can view most test results as soon as they become available. Know that you will likely see results before your healthcare provider has had a chance to review them. After your provider reviews your results, you might see additional comments and interpretations in MyChart.

Log into MyChart and from the left menu, go to the Profile tab and select the appropriate option. On the Personal Information page in MyChart, you can update your address, phone number, email address, preferred name, and other personal details at any time so that your clinic always has the most up-to-date information in your record.
