About Dr. Wilkinson

Dr. John Wilkinson is an Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic where he specializes in Hand, Wrist, and Elbow Surgery.

Dr. John Wilkinson, a native of West Baton Rouge, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University. He then received his Doctor of Medicine from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, where he graduated at the top of his class and was honored with the Alumni Award for Excellence in Anatomy. Dr. Wilkinson completed his orthopaedic residency training at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock and further specialized in Orthopaedic Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He is board certified by the ABOS, including additional qualification with a Subspecialty Certificate in Hand Surgery. Dr. Wilkinson is a proud member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), and American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS). With a commitment to providing personalized care, Dr. Wilkinson employs the latest advancements in orthopaedic medicine to diagnose and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions including general orthopaedic issues, fractures and problems of the hand, wrist and elbow.

Dr. Wilkinson is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time in the duck blind, tree stand or out on the water fishing. Like many of his patients, he is passionate about LSU athletics, cooking and spending quality time with good friends and family, particularly his wife, two young boys and daughter, and their dog, Biscuit.
